SuperFree is shutting down
March 1, 2026
SuperFree Hosting will shut down on October 1, 2026. Existing sites will stop working and need to be transferred out.
March 1, 2026
After careful consideration of the long-term sustainability of our platform, we have made the decision to formally sunset SuperFree. The service will remain operational until October 1, 2026, at which point all hosting servers and management interfaces will be taken offline.
This transition is primarily driven by the increasing complexity of maintenance and the rising infrastructure costs required to support the network. To ensure a smooth transition for our community, we are providing several months of lead time so that every user has the opportunity to secure their data before the final shutdown date.
It is essential to understand that SuperFree will not be performing any automatic migrations. We do not have the capability to move your files, databases, or configurations to a new provider on your behalf. Consequently, you will need to manually intervene to preserve your work. We strongly advise that you begin the process of backing up your assets—specifically downloading your website directories via FTP and exporting your SQL databases—well in advance of the October deadline.
Once the service reaches its end-of-life on October 1, all remaining data on our hardware will be permanently purged to protect user privacy and finalize the decommissioning of our clusters. After this point, data recovery will be impossible, and all hosted sites will cease to function.
While we are sad to see this chapter close, we want to ensure you find a reliable alternative to keep your projects online. We recommend transitioning your sites to InfinityFree. Their platform utilizes a technical structure and control panel interface that is highly compatible with the environment you are currently using at SuperFree. This similarity should streamline the manual process of re-uploading your content and importing your databases, as their server configurations support the majority of scripts and applications currently running on our network.
Please note that this shutdown is limited strictly to our web hosting services. Our dedicated SSL certificate provisioning platform, FreeSSL.cfd, will remain fully operational and will not be affected by this closure. You may continue to use FreeSSL.cfd to secure your domains regardless of where you choose to host them in the future.
While SuperFree hosting services will be going away, we're introducing a new platform, focusing on intuitive drag-and-drop website building. This platform is completely free, and allows you to build & host your own multi-page mobile resposive website on a free subdomain. Try it now at superfree.site
These instructions are specifically for InfinityFree, but the process is similar for many free web hosting services.
If your website doesn’t use MySQL databases, moving your site is very easy. Simply upload all your files to the ‘htdocs’ folder on your hosting account with FTP or a file manager. If you have a PHP based website, check if it has any configuration files where a domain name or file path needs to be set. Update these values as required. If your website is using MySQL databases, you need to move the database contents as well and update the configuration of your website to use the database:
Backup the database on SuperFree. If your current provider has a MySQL backup tool - use it. Usually, you can log in to phpMyAdmin, select your database and click on ‘Export’ tab. Choose Save as file and select ‘gzipped’. Download of your database backup should start afterward.
Create the database on your InfinityFree account. Before you can restore a database backup, you will need to create a database on their system. Enter your website’s Control Panel and click on the MySQL Databases. You can create a new database there. Pay close attention to the database name and hostname, as you’ll need them later.
Importing database data to the server. Once the database is created, enter their phpMyAdmin (the icon for the tool is located in Control Panel). Once inside, click on ‘Import’ tab, browse to the backup file of your database (yourdatabase.sql.gz for example) and click Go. Database restoration procedure will begin. Please be patient, as it can take quite a lot of time to complete if your backup size is large.
Updating configuration files. Now, when the database is restored, you will need to open the configuration file (For example, WordPress will have a wp-config.php file) of your PHP script and update database host, database name, database username and database password values. The database hostname, database name and database username can be found in your control panel. The database password can be found in the client area. Note: InfinityFree does not use “localhost” as the MySQL hostname, the right value should look like “sql123.epizy.com”.
Remember that if you do not backup or transfer your website before the shutdown date of October 1, 2026, your site and all associated files will be permanently deleted. There is a 1 week grace period, during which you can request a transfer to receive access to your files. This must be done before October 7, 2026, otherwise you will lose access to your website permanently.
On October 8, 2026, the SuperFree website will go offline, and the SuperFree support email will no longer work.
We appreciate the trust you placed in SuperFree for your hosting needs and encourage you to finalize your migrations as soon as possible to avoid any last-minute service interruptions.
